Day 15 -You can’t make this stuff up

I look at the news on-line for a few minutes every day before I get out of bed. Apparently, Elizabeth Warren tried to read a statement from Coretta Scott King, as part of testimony for Jeff Session’s hearing, and was made to stop.

Like any strong woman of conviction, she got on the internet and read it out loud for the world to hear. It’s an interesting account of Mr. Session’s activities and character, and you can read it here.  Mrs. King’s letter aside, I think Mr. Sessions is not a good choice as Attorney General. Having read up on the man, I don’t think he has the ability to be neutral and just carry out the law.

The very notion that censorship is alive and well in our government, especially in such a blatant manner, is frightening. Every time I turn around, the new administration is pushing the envelope, and are emboldened by the fact that nobody can seem to stop them.

I try really hard to stay away from politics in my blog, but as I am a fully formed person with all kinds of thoughts, this is the one that is top on my mind today. Please forgive my opinion dropping on national matters, but it occurs to me that if we don’t talk about these things, more censorship will take place, and more wrong things will happen. It occurs to me that I will have much more to say in the coming days.

Here’s hoping you all find the courage to speak out against something you know is wrong, or will bring even worse consequenses. Blessings all! #LetLizSpeak
